Once again we are suffering from the Great British Summer Syndrome. A run of low pressures coming across the Atlantic caused by the Jet Stream being stuck in an unfavourable position giving us very few combining opportunities. The very easy harvest of last year now just a distant memory.
Fortunately, as Camgrain members you benefit from some of the lowest drying charges in the industry due to investment that your business has made in state of the art infrastructure. We have some of the most efficient dryers available across our four sites giving members the benefit of being able to maximise combine hours and capture quality crops when others are seeing their crops deteriorate in the field.
In addition to the already favourable drying charges in times such as these, we are able to "cap" the maximum drying charge that members pay on certain crops to help them progress their harvest. If caps are in operation they will vary on a day to day basis so if you want to take advantage of these charges you need to speak to the harvest desk to find out the rates for the day and be put on the "cap" list.
For any other advice on quality, storage issues, extra storage requirements please call Kate Reynolds at Camgrain (07896 619416), Simon Ingle (07740 070430) or your Frontier Farm Trader for harvest collections please talk to Nicki Arnold (01638 572800 – option 1 for the Harvest Desk).
What's in the boxes? We are delighted to announce the delivery of not one but two new ‘state of the art’ colour sorters from Cimbria. These colour sorters will be central to our new cleaning plant meaning Camgrain members never have to worry about ergot, problems with admixture or costly rejections.
